What Makes a Serial Killer Tick?

In this article, Shirley Lynn Scott argues the results of her very detailed research on what makes serial killers tick. Could it be environmental, genetic, etc.? In her detailed research, she found that psychiatrists have some "environmental factors" which create a sociopath. Those factors are: 60% of psychopaths have lost a parent, their parents are not or were not active in their lives, imbalance in the strictness of parents, and parents who torture their kids behind closed doors of their home, but pretend to have a "happy family" in public. Scott also argues that a psychopaths nervous system endures pain longer and it takes longer for them to comprehend what is causing that pain. This is what drives psychopaths to engage in dangerous activities. Also, genetics show that psychopaths who were adopted as a child have biological family members who are sociopaths. This article shows what factors might drive a psychopath to commit senseless crimes such as homicides, suicides, genocides, matricides, etc.
